International Conference – Methods for preventing Bullying in the classroom, school and school community took place on Friday, 26 July 2019, Strategic Partnership Project for School Education – Safe School – Promoting students’ engagement in the prevention of bullying in school financed by the European Commission through the Erasmus + program in Romania where more than 50 people attended from the field of school education.

The event took place at OK Center and it was organized by the Ikaros Foundation for Active Young People together with its partners from Romania – School no. 79, Spain – Colegio Nuestra Señora del Buen Consejo, Madrid, Confederación Española de Centros de Enseñanza, Madrid, Italy (Ente per la Ricerca e Formazione, Roma) and Portugal (Mentortec, Porto).

The event represented the follow up of the Multiplier Event The Bullying Watch – A Resource Pack for teachers and school community that took place at the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest, aimed to raise the awareness of the negative consequences of the bullying phenomenon through sharing best practices, exercises and methods in order to support participants in identifying and understand different bullying situations, to take action and to prevent it.

The event’s agenda included an introduction in the Bullying phenomenon, short presentation of the project’s intellectual products, sharing best practices and methods for preventing bullying in the classroom, school and community by our project’s partners (presentation of the anti-bullying program in Italy by Andrea from ERIFO, a practical activity for raising awareness about the bullying phenomenon and presenting the anti-bullying program Peer Mediators in Buen Consejo School, presentation of the socio-emotional learning and the benefits of developing emotional intelligence and a practical activity about identifying the most important values by Tomas from CECE and last but not the least, a presentation about the importance of the school vision, the relation family-school and activities that can be used in the classroom for eliminating bullying by Miruna and Ramona from School no. 79) and the conclusions. The event ended with offering the certificates.
